Hello! My name is Cole Douglas. I am a mechanical engineer, and a designer

 

I believe the best innovations come from thoughtful design and attention to detail. Whether it be in the class room, machine shop, or football field, without a well thought design and the discipline to execute this design, innovations do not reach their full potential.

Further, I am driven by my natural curiosity to deeply understand the world around me and improve it. I have kept a design notebook since I was ten years old. Although these designs aren't the most fundamentally sound, they represent my attempts improve the world around me through design before I had the tools gained through engineering classes.

​

I am a Mechanical Engineering student at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College. This portfolio is designed to supplement my resume by demonstrating my Engineering project experience from engineering classes, clubs, and internships. One of the greatest qualities of the program at Thayer is the emphasis on hands-on projects. In addition to extensive problem sets, we are required to design and prototype our projects.  We design, fabricate, and test our products to gain invaluable hands-on experience.
